Beulah Cates, 2010 Hall of Fame Inductee

     Buelah Cates was honored at the TASHA Awards banquet held on the Saturday night of the Winter Classic Show in January.  She was welcomed into the TASHA Hall of Fame by a group of  80 -100 members. 

     Buelah’s husband, Elton, passed away in 1993.  He was represented by a table full of memorabilia with the high lights of their training and showing career. 

     Their grandson Paul Cates gave a brief history of the fascinating life the pair led while leaving a major mark on the Saddlebred world.  Members were treated to a wonderful slide show accented with era music on their trip down memory lane.

Criteria for Inductees

 The T.A.S.H.A. Hall of Fame honors a person for his or her contributions to the Texas Saddlebred industry and dedication to the improvement of the breed through long time support of the Texas American Saddle Horse Association.

 Nominations and Selection 

Nominator must submit in writing a brief biography of the nominee and nominating member’s opinion as to why this person should be inducted into the T.A.S.H.A. Hall of Fame (E-mail submission to the T.A.S.H.A. Board of Directors is  acceptable).  More than one nominee may be submitted by the same nominating member. 

Living nominees should have no less than 10 current consecutive years of  membership with T.A.S.H.A.  

Barring special circumstances (i.e.: husband and wife, team, or other circumstances to be reviewed by the board), only one deceased and/or one living person should be inducted per year.

 The deadline for receipt of nominations is October 31.

The nominees will be reviewed by the full board and inductees will be  selected by vote of the full board.

Induction of nominee honorees will occur at the T.A.S.H.A. Awards  Banquet or at a special presentation at the first T.A.S.H.A. horse show of the fiscal year in a non T.A.S.H.A. Awards Banquet year.
