Minutes, October 4, 2009

The Annual TASHA meeting was held at Bluebonnet Farm.  Thank you to Ed and Ada Perwien for hosting the meeting and supplying a very nice lunch.  Beverages were supplied by Sandy Currier and Randy McBride.

There was an impressive turnout considering the poor weather at the start of the day.  The meeting was held directly after lunch.

Biographies of most of the nominees for the TASHA board were handed out to the membership present.

Introductions from all members present were made

Nominees to the Board introduced themselves.

The ballot for Board of Directors was passed out and voting took place.  Votes were counted by May Chadick.

The nominees voted to the board for a three year term are Bill Marple, Barbara Simpson, and Chris Tresten.

Topics covered at the meeting:

1.   Improvements and plans for the Great Southwest Equestrian Center.    The facility cost has increased slightly, but the improvements already in progress should be worth it.

2.   Due to the routinely low number of horses at the February show; adding another breed to the February show was discussed.        Breeds mentioned were Welsh Pony and Rocky Mountain Spotted Horse. Barbara Simpson will get in touch with the RMSH representatives. Jean Huffstickler will continue to try and contact WP representatives

3.   Possible change of show dates for our second show to help improve number of horses     was discussed.      May Chadick comments that the Awards Banquet will be held at the   February 2010 TASHA show, which usually increase our number of horses at the show.

4.   A request for show volunteers was made and a show volunteer sheet was passed around.

5.   The show still needs a videographer and farrier.  Suggestions were given

·         The photographer is Don Stine

·         Todd Walker has been confirmed as Judge for the December show.

6.   A general question and answer session was brief

The meeting was adjourned, and members relocated to the barn for the presentation of horses for sale under $10,000.00.  This was well received and attended.
